Opportunity:
Respiratory Therapist – Respiratory Therapist
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour shifts: 5:00 AM to 5:00 PM or 5:00 PM to 5:00 AM
• Schedule provided 8 weeks at a time, given 3 weeks in advance
• Weekend rotation every 3rd weekend
• Holiday expectations: 1 summer holiday and 1 winter holiday
• No on-call responsibilities
• Patient ratio of 1:1
• Minimum 1 year experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP (due to riding on NICU transport)
• Pediatric NICU Level 2 experience highly preferred
• Pediatric experience required
• Must perform ABG punctures, airway and ventilator management, inhaled medications (MDI and nebulizer), code blue responses, and EKGs (up to 10 per shift)
• Float throughout hospital to all units
• Work with patient types including COVID, COPD, ETOH detox, overdose patients, ARDS, pneumonia, influenza, CHF, lung cancer, stroke, RSV, and trach patients on vents
• Use EMR system EPIC and equipment including Hamilton C1, Airvo-Hiflow, and Servo-U ventilators
• 2-3 day orientation up to one week depending on comfort level
• Professional scrubs of any color allowed, including cartoons and t-shirts

Facility:
This healthcare facility is a 120-licensed bed hospital that serves as a Level IV Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center. The facility features a Level 2 NICU, busy emergency department with high pediatric population (4-5,000 pediatric ED patients yearly), combined stepdown/ICU unit, inpatient cardiac unit, medical-surgical units, and inpatient behavioral health unit. The respiratory therapy department maintains 2-5 ventilators daily between the ED and ICU, with strong support including RT educators, charge staff, and management coverage during day shifts.
