Opportunity:
RN – Observation Unit
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour day/night variable shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week (guaranteed hours not available during orientation week)
• Float to all inpatient units as needed, including IMC and CTU units
• Every other weekend and every other holiday requirement
• Subject to low census and on-call assignments with minimum 2-hour call back
• Contract eligible for 36 hours of low census unbillable hours
• Patient ratio of 1:4 on 8-bed observation unit
• Care for patients with anemia, cellulitis, COPD, dehydration, pre and post-op urology and GI patients
• Administer cardiac drips including Cardizem, Nitro, Insulin, and Heparin
• Manage high volume of admissions and discharges with average patient stays up to 48 hours
• Required certifications: Wisconsin RN License, BLS, ACLS
• NIHSS highly preferred
• Must pass EKG exam during compliance process
• Minimum 3 years experience with 1 travel assignment required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Background in observation units or MS/Tele units preferred
• Ability to read and interpret cardiac strips required
• Any color scrubs permitted
• Associate degree or certificate required
• Must be located outside 50-mile radius from facility
• During flu season, unvaccinated travelers must wear masks at all times per facility policy
