Opportunity:
RN – Stepdown
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week
• 13-week contract
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Float to all inpatient units as needed
• No on-call or callback requirements
• Contract is eligible for 36 hours of low census unbillable hours – can be low censused in hour increments as needed; unit will typically low census in 4-hour increments
• Work in a 44-bed intermediate cardiac stepdown unit with a fast-paced, high patient turnover environment
• Patient ratio typically 1:4
• Patient population includes post-op CABG/Valve, thoracotomy, vascular, arrhythmia, CHF, post-procedure cath, pacer, defib, ablations, acute CP/MI, and med/surg overflow including detox, DKA, COPD exacerbation, respiratory failure, and Fem Pop Bypass
• Must have 1 year of strong cardiac experience (Cardiac SDU/Intermediate Cardiac/Cardiac ICU) and 2 years of IMC/PCU/Tele experience required
• Experience with Amiodarone, Cardizem, and Nitro Drips required
• At least one prior travel assignment must be completed
• 1 year of recent EPIC charting experience required
• Must be able to pass EKG test during first week of hire
• Required certifications: WI RN License, BLS, and ACLS (AHA or ARC)
• Associate Degree or Certificate required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Scrub colors: any color

This facility is a full-service hospital offering a wide range of inpatient and specialty care services. The cardiac telemetry unit is a fast-paced, 44-bed intermediate cardiac stepdown unit that manages complex cardiac and surgical patients. The facility emphasizes high-quality patient care and expects staff to work independently, manage tasks efficiently, and adapt well to change in a dynamic clinical environment.
