Opportunity:
RN – PACU
Job Details:
• RN position providing care in preoperative and postoperative settings
• Monday through Friday shifts covered based on patient volume with no weekends or weekend call
• Preop shift: 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM
• Late shift: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM each day department is open; staff clock out if no patients after 4:30 PM
• Call shift: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM or until last patient is discharged; staff clock out if no patients after 5:00 PM
• Guaranteed hours: 32 hours per week
• Unit is closed every other Monday for elective cases
• No call or holiday shifts as unit is closed on holidays
• Orientation to preop and postop provided during the first week of assignment
• Patient population includes general, gynecology, orthopedic, podiatry, urology, ophthalmology, hand, pain clinic, and endoscopy
• Telemetry used in PACU and procedure rooms, monitored by nursing staff
• May float to OR if experienced, though not required
• Rarely required to titrate drips (Labetalol)
• Black scrubs provided by the facility
• Charting system: Cerner
• Preop and postop experience required
• Previous travel experience required
• Must be a team player, organized, self-motivated, flexible, and have a positive attitude
• Required certifications: ACLS, PALS, BLS
Facility:
This acute care facility features a dedicated perioperative unit with 20 beds in preop and PACU, supporting a wide range of surgical specialties including general surgery, gynecology, orthopedics, podiatry, urology, ophthalmology, hand surgery, pain clinic, and endoscopy. The unit operates Monday through Friday and is supported by a collaborative team including charge RNs, nurse aides, anesthesia, and respiratory therapy to ensure comprehensive patient care throughout the perioperative process.
