Opportunity:
RN – Oncology Nurse
Job Details:
• Work 8-hour shifts Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
• 40 guaranteed hours per week
• No weekend or holiday requirements
• No on-call or callback requirements
• Position is located within the chemotherapy infusion room
• Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, fluids, and injections to patients
• Perform IV insertions, port-a-cath access, and PICC line access
• Conduct patient assessments, check labs, and release treatments as applicable
• Monitor patients throughout their treatments which may range from 15 minutes to a full shift
• Manage approximately 8 patients throughout the day with 3-4 patients at any given time
• Utilize Epic EMR and Beacon for charting – Epic/Beacon experience required
• Operate Rovers for medication scanning and Alaris pumps
• Minimum 2 years of oncology experience required
• Outpatient oncology and outpatient chemotherapy experience required
• Strong IV insertion, port-a-cath access, assessment, and critical thinking skills required
• Required certifications: WI RN License, BLS, and ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Certification
• Associate Degree or Certificate required
• Any scrub color is acceptable
Facility:
This oncology care center houses both radiation oncology and medical oncology services, offering a comprehensive approach to cancer treatment. The medical oncology department includes a provider clinic, phone triage, PICC/port lab draws, and a chemotherapy infusion room with 23 chairs and beds, seeing approximately 40-60 patients per day. The infusion room is staffed with 5 or more nurses along with medical assistants to ensure high-quality, attentive care for every patient throughout their treatment.
