Opportunity:
RN – ER
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every third weekend required
• Every third holiday required
• No on-call or standby requirements
• No floating requirements, though ability to float to med/surg would be beneficial
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 depending on acuity
• Travelers are expected to triage patients using pull-to-full model in ER rooms
• RNs are required to read their own cardiac monitor strips
• RNs must be knowledgeable in ventilators, CPAP, BiPap, and high flow oxygen equipment (training can be provided)
• Lab draws performed by both phlebotomy and RNs
• Charting system: Cerner
• No self-scheduling; block scheduling attempted but not always guaranteed
• No dress code or scrub color requirements
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), PALS (AHA), TNCC, NRP
Facility:
This is a Trauma Level IV emergency department facility with 8 total beds, including 2 dedicated trauma bays, and an additional 4 beds available in the OR for overflow. The emergency department sees an average of 22 patients per day and offers urgent care services within the ER Monday through Friday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Saturday through Sunday from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The facility has X-ray and CT services available in-house 24/7 and utilizes a charge nurse model where the charge nurse takes patient assignments.
