Opportunity:
RN – Labor and Delivery
Job Details:
• 12-hour day/night variable shifts
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week
• 13-week contract
• 2 weekends out of 4 required as needed with holiday rotations every other holiday
• Primary placement in OB unit with 8 beds total (2 labor rooms, 6 post-partum)
• Level 1 maternity/Level 1 nursery as well as post-op GYN patients
• Staffing follows AWHONN guidelines for nurse-to-patient ratios
• Nurses manage labor, post-partum, and newborn nursery care across a combined unit
• May float to Med/Surg, ER, or ICU for tasks only (vital signs, answering lights, patient history) – no patient assignments and no isolation rooms in float situations
• May need to float to other locations in the Southern region as needed
• No on-call or back-up requirements; additional shifts may be available for sick call coverage
• Eligible for 36 hours of low census hours; travelers may be placed on call during low census periods
• Required certifications: BLS, Advanced NRP, WI RN license
• Preferred certifications: AWHONN, PALS (AHA or ARC certifications required)
• Minimum 2 years of OB with L&D experience required
• 1 travel assignment required
• Critical access hospital experience highly preferred
• Labor and Delivery competency required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Associate Degree or Certificate required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Maximum of 7 days of requested time off will be accommodated
• Scrub colors: any; scrubs provided if working in surgery
