Opportunity:
RN – ICU
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour shifts, either day shift (7:00 AM to 7:00 PM) or night shift (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
• Schedule runs in 6-week increments with every other weekend rotation
• Every other holiday rotation required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Cannot work more than 60 hours in a week or 5 consecutive 12-hour shifts per fatigue policy
• Minimum 4 years of ICU experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Care for neurological patients including ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, seizures, spinal surgeries, and brain mass resections/biopsies
• Handle medical respiratory overflow and general medical ICU overflow patients
• Patient ratios of 1:1-2, or 1:3 for mixed acuity status
• Required skills include ventilator management, trachs, arterial lines, vasopressor and sedation management, and central line blood draws
• CVVH/CRRT and EVD experience preferred
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Equipment includes Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, GE monitors, and Medtronic EVDs
• Scrubs must be any solid color with no graphics, logos, or designs
• May float to ED Holding, other ICUs (MRICU, SICU, CICU, CVICU), medical surgical unit, sitter assignment, or PACU Surge

Facility:
This facility is a 933-bed Level III Trauma Center and Magnet Designated hospital that serves as a Comprehensive Stroke Center. The ICU Neurology unit features 27 beds with an average daily census of 25 patients and is supported by a robust team including CNAs, Charge RNs, Critical Care NPs, Intensivists available 24/7, Hospitalists, Respiratory Therapists, and Phlebotomy staff. The unit maintains a strong culture of teamwork and evidence-based nursing practice with bedside telemetry and central monitoring at the nurse's station.
