Opportunity:
RN – Labor and Delivery
Job Details:
• 13-week contract with 12-hour day/night variable shifts
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week
• Primary unit is OB/Labor and Delivery
• 2 weekends out of 4 required as needed, with holiday rotations every other holiday
• Float requirements include OB and L&D with potential to float to Med/Surg, ER, or ICU for tasks only (vital signs, answering lights, completing patient history) – no patient assignments and no isolation rooms in float areas; may also float to other Southern region locations as needed
• No on-call or back-up requirements; additional shifts may be available to pick up for sick calls
• Unit consists of 2 labor rooms and 6 post-partum rooms, Level 1 maternity/Level 1 nursery, and post-op GYN patients
• Staffing follows AWHONN guidelines; nurses cover labor, post-partum, and newborn nursery care (not separate units)
• Minimum 2 years of OB experience with Labor and Delivery required
• 1 prior travel assignment required
• Critical access hospital experience highly preferred
• Associate Degree or Certificate required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
• EPIC charting experience required
• Labor and Delivery competency required
• Strong work ethic, resilience, adaptability, assertiveness, and team-oriented attitude expected
• Maximum of 7 days of requested time off will be accommodated
• Scrub colors are open; scrubs provided if going into surgery
• Required certifications: BLS, Advanced NRP, WI RN License; AWHONN and PALS preferred (AHA or ARC certifications required)

This facility is a critical access hospital offering Labor and Delivery services within a small but dedicated maternity unit. The unit operates as a Level 1 maternity and nursery facility with an average birth rate of approximately 100 deliveries annually. The care team follows AWHONN staffing guidelines and nurses provide comprehensive care across labor, post-partum, and newborn nursery settings, making it an environment that values versatility and clinical excellence.
