Opportunity:
RN – CVOR
Job Details:
• 13-week contract with 40 hours guaranteed per week
• Monday through Friday, various 8-hour day shifts
• Every 3rd to 4th weekend and holiday rotation required
• On-call requirements include 1 night of call per week, 1 weekend per month, and 1 backup per week with the possibility of additional call as needed
• 30-minute response time required when on call and ready in the OR
• A personal vehicle is required due to the 30-minute on-call response time
• 2-week orientation process with training for additional anesthesia skills as needed
• GSA hours are not guaranteed during the week of orientation
• Hours are not guaranteed during holidays when the unit is closed
• Assigned to 4 to 5 rooms per day across 21 ORs covering all specialties
• Required to assist anesthesia providers throughout a variety of specialties with a main focus on the cardiothoracic program
• Required skills include strong OR/CVOR circulating experience, assisting with intubations, fiber optic scopes during intubation, sterile techniques with central lines, arterial line placement, lumbar drains, Swan Ganz catheters, starting IVs, drawing labs, and setting up medication pumps
• Must be proficient in running Belmont, Cell Saver, and Level I equipment
• Assisting anesthesia with heart surgeries, traumas, elective surgeries, and general surgeries required
• Prior experience with conscious sedation is a plus
• Must demonstrate critical thinking skills, strong knowledge of all OR cases, flexibility, excellent work ethic, and ability to manage change
• Willingness to complete downtime tasks as needed
• Minimum 3+ years of CVOR experience with anesthesia experience required; will consider ICU or ER RN with anesthesia experience or a CVOR RN
• Prior travel experience required
• Required certifications: AHA or ARC BLS, ACLS, and WI RN License or compact RN license
• Associate or Bachelor's degree in nursing required
• Charting experience with Epic required; Cell Saver and Belmont experience required
• Scrub colors are provided
