Opportunity:
RN – Med Surg/Observation
Job Details:
• 13-week contract with a required start date of 3/24
• 12-hour variable shifts covering both days and nights: 7:00 AM–7:30 PM / 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
• Guaranteed 48 hours per week with overtime after 48 hours worked
• Float to all inpatient units as needed, including IMC and CTU units
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Low census may occur in hour increments, with the unit typically reducing in 4-hour increments; travelers may be asked to work only 4 or 8 hours of a shift
• Patient ratio of 1:4 on an 8-bed observation unit
• Care for patients with conditions including anemia, cellulitis, COPD, dehydration, pre and post-op urology and GI, with average patient stays up to 48 hours
• Administer cardiac drips including Cardizem, Nitro, Insulin, and Heparin
• High volume of admissions and discharges
• Ability to read and interpret EKG strips required; EKG exam required during compliance
• Minimum 3 years of experience required with at least 1 prior travel assignment required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Background in observation, med/surg, or telemetry units preferred
• Required certifications: WI RN License, BLS, ACLS (AHA or ARC); NIHSS highly preferred
• Associate Degree or Certificate required
• Scrub colors: any color

This facility is a full-service hospital offering a wide range of inpatient and specialized care services. The unit featured in this opportunity is a newly opening Short Stay/Observation unit designed to provide high-quality, efficient care for patients requiring short-term monitoring and treatment. The facility supports a collaborative, team-oriented environment and utilizes EPIC for charting across its inpatient units.
