Opportunity:
Invasive Cardiac Tech – Cardiac Care
Job Details:
• Work varying shifts of 8 hours or 12 hours (12:00 PM – 8:30 PM or 8:00 AM – 8:30 PM) or a combination of 8-hour and 12-hour shifts to meet weekly shift requirements
• Department is staffed 24/7
• Weekend rotation required on occasion, typically limited to on-call coverage
• On-call required from end of shift until 6:00 AM the following morning with a 30-minute response time
• Call rotation runs Friday through Friday (7 days of call) every 2 to 3 months; worst case scenario is 7 days of call every 2 months
• Fatigue policy in place – staff cannot work more than 60 hours per week or 5 consecutive 12-hour shifts
• Travelers typically do not work holidays
• 1 week of orientation provided
• No floating required
• Fast-paced, high acuity Cath Lab environment performing 24 to 40 cases per day with adult patients only
• Cath Lab cases include diagnostic, interventional, RHC, LHC, STEMI/NSTEMI, CTO, valvuloplasty, Cardiomems, biopsies, atherectomies, staged PCI, IABP, Impella, and ECMO (preferred)
• Peripheral diagnostic and interventional cases including fistulograms
• Hybrid experience preferred but not required (AAA grafts, thoracic grafts, clips, TAVRs, Watchman)
• Patient ratio is 1:1
• Minimum 3 years of experience required
• First-time travelers are not accepted
• RN certifications required: BLS, ACLS; NIHSS preferred
• RTR certifications required: BLS, ACLS, ARRT(R), Wisconsin License; RCIS preferred
• RN skills required: Cath Lab and peripheral cases, conscious sedation, titrating and managing drips
• RTR skills required: Scrubbing and panning
• Charting and equipment: EPIC, Alaris, Pyxis, GE C-arms, Volcano, St. Jude, Alphavac, Angiovac, EKOS, Anari, GE Pruka hemodynamic system, Fuji and ProSolv PACS, Maquet IABP
• Scrubs are provided

Facility:
This facility is a large 933-bed hospital designated as a Level III Trauma Center and Level III NICU, with Magnet designation and Comprehensive Stroke Center status. The Cath Lab operates across 15 shared labs between Cath Lab, EP, and Hybrid settings, with approximately 11 labs dedicated strictly to Cath Lab procedures. Travelers will work exclusively in the Cath Lab. The facility offers robust support services including 24/7 RT, hospitalist coverage, cardiology in-house, and a Critical Response Team for codes, along with dedicated housekeeping, storeroom staff, transporters, and receptionist services during daytime hours.
