Opportunity:
RN – Med Surg/Tele
Job Details:
• Evening/Night shift, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Weekend and holiday rotations based on operational need
• Weekend patient ratio of 6 patients
• Float to other units or downtown campus as needed
• Minimum of two years of acute care experience within the last 3 years required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• WI RN or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required – AHA only
• Must pass Telemetry test prior to start – two attempts allowed with a passing score of 80% or higher
• Telemetry exam requires 100% identification of lethal rhythms including ventricular fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, and asystole
• No incorrect answers permitted on questions regarding 3rd degree heart blocks
• Care for adult and geriatric patients with a wide variety of medical and surgical diagnoses
• Patient diagnoses include COPD, heart failure, hypertension, diabetes, infections, and mental status changes
• Manage drips including insulin, heparin, and PCA
• Support bariatric weight loss procedures and orthopedic surgeries including joint replacements and neuro spine
• Utilize special equipment including CPM, wound VAC, lifts, and polar care units
• Skills required include telemetry monitoring, interpretation of dysrhythmias, central line blood draw, PICC line management, IV insertion and maintenance, wound care, and phlebotomy
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and social services
• 20 orientation hours provided
