Opportunity:
RN – Labor and Delivery Nurse
Job Details:
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
• First-time travelers considered on a case-by-case basis
• Care for L&D patients 35+ weeks, GYN surgeries, antepartum, and postpartum patients
• Patient ratios: 1:1 for laboring patients and 1:3 for couplets, antepartum, and surgical patients
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP, and FHM
• Skills required include NSTs, triage, postpartum and newborn assessments and care, and nursery care
• Work with EMR system EPIC, Alaris IV pumps, and Pyxis medication dispensing
• FHM available at bedside and nurse's station, no telemetry
• RN is responsible for drawing blood
• Charge RN takes patients as needed, with Resource RN and RRT support available
• OB MD has a 30-minute callback time
• Weekend rotation every other weekend
• On-call schedule varies based on contract
• Up to 7 days of requested time off may be approved
• May float to inpatient units to act as a sitter or in a CNA role
• Orientation includes NEO and at least one shift to learn unit flow
• Scrubs: any color permitted
• Parking available in yellow lines in front of building or by the ED
Facility:
This facility is a Level III Trauma Center located in Marinette, WI, operating with 64 beds total. The Women's Health and OB Services unit features 8 LDRP and antepartum beds, providing comprehensive care for laboring, postpartum, antepartum, and GYN surgical patients. The unit is well-supported with dedicated charge and resource RNs, rapid response team access, and modern technology to ensure high-quality patient care.
