Opportunity:
RN – Med Surg/Observation
Job Details:
• 12-week assignment starting as soon as possible
• 12-hour day/night variable shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Guaranteed 48 hours per week
• Float to all inpatient units as needed, including IMC and CTU units
• Contract is eligible for 36 hours of low census unbillable hours, which can occur in hour increments as needed
• Unit will typically reduce census in 4-hour increments and may ask traveler to work only 4 or 8 hours of a shift
• Every other weekend and every other holiday rotation required
• 8-bed observation unit with a patient ratio of 1:4
• Care for patients with conditions including anemia, cellulitis, COPD, dehydration, pre and post-op urology and GI cases, and patients on drips such as Cardizem, Nitro, Insulin, and Heparin
• Average patient stay is up to 48 hours with a high volume of admissions and discharges
• Ability to read and interpret cardiac strips required
• EKG exam required during compliance
• Minimum 3 years of experience required
• 1 prior travel assignment required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Required certifications: WI RN License, BLS, ACLS (AHA or ARC); NIHSS highly preferred
• Associate Degree or Certificate required
• Any color scrubs permitted
