Opportunity:
RN – Med Surg
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• 36 guaranteed hours per week (48-hour contracts available upon request)
• Overtime applies after 52 hours on 48-hour contracts
• Three weekends out of every six-week schedule required
• Every other holiday rotation required
• Float requirement: First to float within skillset to Deaconess Midtown (8 miles) and potential float to Deaconess Henderson, KY (11 miles)
• 2-hour notice given for cross-campus float, mid-shift float within same campus possible
• No on-call or callback requirements
• Must have current active compact nursing license
• Required certifications: AHA BLS and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years strong Med/Surg experience, 1 travel assignment, and trauma level II experience required
• Recent EPIC charting experience required with mandatory checkoff class
• Care for combination of medical and surgical patients including confusion/behavioral health/CIWA, CHF, COPD, UTI, cellulitis, sepsis, amputations, decubitus ulcers, and general surgeries
• Skills include IV fluid/antibiotic therapies, medical/post-surgical assessment, heparin drips, wound care/wound vacs, and basic telemetry
• 32-bed unit expanding to 37 beds in January 2025
• Navy blue scrubs required with no competing health systems or agency logos
• Teaching hospital environment may require precepting students and new hires
• 3 call-ins can result in termination
• Associate degree or certificate required
