Opportunity:
RN – Med Surg; Additional Notes from VMS= Ortho Neuro Trauma Care Center MS RN – Nights – Deaconess Midtown **AUTO OFFER**
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• 13-week contract assignment
• 36 guaranteed hours per week (48 hours available upon request)
• Overtime applies after 52 hours on 48-hour contracts
• Three weekends out of every six-week schedule required
• Every other holiday rotation required
• Patient ratio: 1:4-7 patients on night shifts
• Float requirement: First to float within skillset to Deaconess Newburgh (8 miles) and potential float to Deaconess Henderson, KY (11 miles)
• Mid-shift float within same campus possible with 2-hour notice for cross-campus floats
• Care for trauma, orthopedic (broken hip/femur), and neurological patients (scheduled neck/back, spine/rib fractures)
• Must have 2 years RN experience, one full year ortho/neuro/trauma experience, 1 travel assignment, and trauma level II experience
• Required certifications: Current active compact license, AHA BLS, and NIHSS
• Recent EPIC charting experience required with mandatory checkoff class
• Must pass telemetry test for stepdown experience candidates
• Required skills: Strong neuro assessment, log rolling patients, applying assistive devices, tele/12-lead EKG interpretation, PIV insertion
• Preferred skills: Chest tube/drain management, drips management, epidural management, PEGs/NGs, Buck's traction, pin site care
• Navy blue scrubs required with no competing health system or agency logos
• May require precepting of students and new hires in teaching hospital environment
• Three call-ins can result in termination
