Opportunity:
RN – Med Surg
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• 36 guaranteed hours per week (48 hours available upon request)
• 13-week contract with bi-weekly orientation starting 1/26
• Float requirement: First to float within skillset to Deaconess Newburgh campus (8 miles) and potential float to Deaconess Henderson (11 miles) with 2-hour notice
• Work three weekends out of every six-week schedule and every other holiday
• No on-call or callback requirements
• Navy blue scrubs required with no competing health system or agency logos
• Must have current active compact nursing license, AHA BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Minimum two years strong Med/Surg experience, 1 travel assignment, and trauma level II experience required
• Recent EPIC charting experience required with mandatory checkoff class
• Patient ratio of 1:6-7 on night shift with charge nurse taking patient assignment
• Care for post-surgical patients including whipples, vascular, heart caths, bariatric, ENT, podiatry procedures
• Manage patients with dementia, altered mental status, CIWA/detox protocols, fall risks
• Skills include PIV insertion, chest tube management, CBI, stable drips, epidural management, ostomy care, blood product administration
• Perform wound care including packing, wound vacs, and dressing changes
• Provide pre/post heart cath care with femoral/TR bands
• Teaching hospital environment may require precepting students and new hires
• Must demonstrate strong assessment and critical thinking skills
