Opportunity:
RN – Observation Unit
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour shifts: 11:00 AM to 11:30 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Guaranteed 48 hours per week with overtime after 48 hours worked
• Every other weekend and every other holiday rotation required
• Float to all inpatient units as needed
• No on-call or call back requirements
• Maintain 1:4 patient ratio on 8-bed observation unit
• Must be outside 50-mile radius from facility
• Minimum 3 years experience with 1 travel assignment required
• Required certifications: Wisconsin RN License, BLS, ACLS
• EPIC charting experience required
• Must take EKG exam during compliance
• Background in observation units or step-down MS/Tele units preferred
• Ability to read and interpret cardiac strips required
• Care for patients with anemia, cellulitis, COPD, CHF, dehydration, pre-op, urology, and GI conditions
• Manage various drips including cardiac medications, nitro, insulin, and heparin
• Handle high volume of admissions and discharges with average stays up to 48 hours
• Any color scrubs permitted
• Associate degree or certificate required
• Must demonstrate independence, time management, and collaborative teamwork skills

This healthcare facility operates a specialized 8-bed observation unit with 2 RNs per shift, providing comprehensive inpatient care services. The organization utilizes EPIC charting systems and maintains high standards for patient care with a focus on managing short-stay patients requiring monitoring and treatment. The facility offers a collaborative work environment with opportunities to float between various inpatient units as needed.
