Opportunity:
RN – ER Peds
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• 2 weekends per month rotation required
• Rotate holidays every other holiday
• Float requirements include sitting with patients without performing actual inpatient nursing duties
• No on-call or call back requirements
• Contract length from 12/22/2025 to 3/31/2026
• Required certifications: Wisconsin or Compact RN license, AHA BLS, AHA PALS
• Preferred certifications: ACLS and TNCC
• Associate Degree in Nursing required, Bachelor's Degree preferred
• 1-2 years minimum experience with Emergency Department experience required
• Previous pediatric experience required, Level I Trauma experience preferred
• 1 previous completed travel assignment required
• EPIC charting system highly preferred
• Provide care for pediatric emergency department patients including assessment, medication administration, teaching, wound care, EKG, obtaining vital signs, and providing mental and behavioral health care
• Work in fast-paced 50-bed emergency department seeing 200-280 visits per day
• Handle both low and high acuity pediatric cases
• Professional scrubs of any color required
• Flu vaccine required with no exemptions
• Must meet personal appearance requirements including professional jewelry and covered offensive tattoos
Facility:
This specialized pediatric healthcare facility operates a Level 1 trauma center with a 50-bed emergency department that provides comprehensive emergency care specifically for children. The facility maintains a fast-paced, efficient environment handling 200-280 patient visits daily with a team structure that includes emergency department technicians and nurses. The department features specialized areas including a fast track section for lower acuity cases and higher acuity areas for more critical pediatric emergencies, with the fast track area operating until 1:00 AM.
