Opportunity:
RN – Med Surg
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour variable day/night shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• 36 guaranteed hours per week for 13-week contract
• Every other weekend and holiday rotation required
• Float to all inpatient units as needed
• Subject to low census and on-call requirements with 2-hour minimum call back
• Minimum 2+ years Med Surg experience required
• Recent hospital experience and Trauma Level II experience required
• Prior travel experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Wisconsin RN License and BLS certification required
• Must be outside 50-mile radius of facility
• Work with Epic EMR, medication scanning rovers, and Alaris pumps
• Provide post-surgical care for adult and geriatric patients
• Handle nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4-5 during day/evening shifts, 1:5-7 during nights
• Manage 10-15 admissions per day in fast-paced environment
• Must demonstrate ability to multitask and prioritize patient care based on acuity
• Any color scrubs permitted
• Associate degree or certificate required, bachelor's degree preferred
• Must comply with facility vaccination and mask policies during flu season
Facility:
This healthcare facility operates a 40-bed Post Surgical Care Unit providing comprehensive care for pre and post-surgical adult and geriatric patients. The unit maintains high occupancy rates of 90-95% during weekdays with an average length of stay of 2-3 days. The facility emphasizes team-based care and utilizes modern technology including Epic EMR systems to support patient care delivery in a fast-paced surgical environment.
