Opportunity:

Cath Lab Technologist – Cath Lab

Job Details:

• Work varying shifts of 8 hours or 12 hours (12:00 PM – 8:30 PM or 8:00 AM – 8:30 PM) or a combination of 8-hour and 12-hour shifts to meet weekly shift requirements
• Department is staffed 24/7
• Weekend rotation required on occasion, though it is typically just call
• On-call required from end of shift until 6:00 AM the following morning with a 30-minute response time
• Will be on call Friday through Friday (7 days of call) every 2 to 3 months
• Minimum 3 years of experience required
• First-time travelers will not be considered
• Work in a fast-paced, high acuity Cath Lab performing 24 to 40 cases per day with adult patients only
• Perform Cath Lab procedures including diagnostic, interventional, RHC, LHC, STEMI/NSTEMI, CTO, valvuloplasty, Cardiomems, biopsies, atherectomies, staged PCI, IABP, Impella, and ECMO (preferred)
• Perform peripheral diagnostic and interventional cases including fistulograms
• Hybrid experience preferred but not required (AAA grafts, thoracic grafts, clips, TAVRs, Watchman)
• Patient ratio is 1:1
• RN required certifications: BLS, ACLS; NIHSS preferred
• RTR required certifications: BLS, ACLS, ARRT(R), WI License; RCIS preferred
• RN skills required: Conscious sedation and titrating/managing drips
• RTR skills required: Scrubbing and panning
• Charting system: EPIC
• Equipment used includes: Alaris, Pyxis, GE C-arms, Volcano, St. Jude, Alphavac, Angiovac, EKOS, Anari, GE Pruka (Maclab) hemodynamic system, Fuji and ProSolv PACS, and Maquet IABP
• No floating required
• 1 week of orientation provided
• Cannot work more than 60 hours in a week or 5 consecutive 12-hour shifts per fatigue policy
• Scrubs provided
• Free parking available
• Travelers typically do not work holidays
• Time off requests may be approved with 7 days notice

Facility:

This facility is a Level III Trauma Center and Level III NICU with Magnet Designation and Comprehensive Stroke Center status, operating 933 beds. The Cath Lab department operates across 15 total labs shared between Cath Lab, EP, and Hybrid spaces, with approximately 11 dedicated strictly to Cath Lab. The facility provides robust support staff including housekeeping, storeroom staff, transporters, receptionist/HUC coverage, charge nurses, respiratory therapy available 24/7, hospitalists, and cardiology in-house 24/7, as well as a Critical Response Team for codes.
