Opportunity:
Pediatric Respiratory Therapist – 301351284 – RT Critical Care
Job Details:
• Work 3 twelve-hour shifts per week
• Day shift: 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM or Night shift: 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• Variable schedule available combining half days and half nights
• Every third weekend required
• Every other holiday required
• Optional on-call availability from 7:00 PM to 4:00 AM with 1-hour response time
• Must have minimum 2 years respiratory therapy experience
• Must have trauma level 2 or 3 experience
• Critical care experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NRP, PALS, RRT via NBRC
• Wisconsin RT license required (processing takes 6-8 weeks)
• Provide respiratory care for all adult units and emergency department
• Cover pediatric patients while in emergency department
• Perform ABGs and CBGs in intensive care units
• Cover EKG department overnight and during coverage needs
• Assist with intubations and may place laryngeal airways during code situations
• Work with various ventilators including Servo U, Servo I, PB840, Hamilton T1
• Operate BiPAP/CPAP equipment, high flow devices, and specialized equipment
• Any color scrubs permitted with supportive footwear encouraged
• Use Cerner charting system
• 3-4 day orientation on floors following leadership orientation

This medical center operates as a comprehensive healthcare facility with critical care respiratory therapy services covering inpatient units and emergency departments. The facility maintains trauma level 2 designation and features 24/7 hospitalist and intensivist coverage. The respiratory therapy department is well-staffed with system directors, managers, supervisors, and lead therapists assigned to each shift, providing strong support and mentorship for staff members.
