Opportunity:
Invasive Cardiac Tech – Cardiac Care
Job Details:
• Work in a fast-paced, high acuity Cath Lab performing 24-40 cases per day with adult patients
• Day/Mids rotation with occasional weekend shifts and varying shift lengths of 8 or 12 hours (6:00 AM – 2:30 PM, 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM, 12:00 PM – 8:30 PM, or 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM) or a combination of 8 and 12-hour shifts to meet weekly requirements
• Call required as needed for the department; on-call coverage runs from end of shift until 6:00 AM the following morning with a 30-minute response time
• Extended call rotation of Friday-Friday (7 days) every 2-3 months required
• Department is staffed 24/7
• Travelers typically do not work holidays
• Time off requests: up to 7 days may be approved
• Cannot work more than 60 hours per week or 5 consecutive 12-hour shifts per fatigue policy
• 1:1 patient ratio
• Perform Cath Lab procedures including diagnostic, interventional, RHC, LHC, STEMI/NSTEMI, CTO, valvuloplasty, Cardiomems, biopsies, atherectomies, staged PCI, IABP, Impella, and ECMO (preferred)
• Perform peripheral diagnostic and interventional cases including fistulograms
• Hybrid experience preferred but not required: AAA grafts, thoracic grafts, clips, TAVRs, Watchman
• RN skills required: conscious sedation and titrating/managing drips
• RTR skills required: scrubbing and panning
• Work exclusively in Cath Lab; no floating required
• Charting and equipment used: EPIC, Alaris, Pyxis, GE C-arms, Volcano, St. Jude, Alphavac, Angiovac, EKOS, Anari, GE Pruka hemodynamic monitoring (Maclab), Fuji and ProSolv PACS, and Maquet IABP
• Required certifications for RN: BLS, ACLS; NIHSS preferred
• Required certifications for RTR: BLS, ACLS, ARRT(R), WI License; RCIS preferred
• Minimum 3 years of experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
• Scrubs provided; free parking available
• 1 week of orientation provided
Facility:
This facility is a large 933-bed hospital recognized as a Level III Trauma Center and Level III NICU, holding both Magnet Designation and Comprehensive Stroke Center status. The Cath Lab operates across 15 total labs shared between Cath Lab, EP, and Hybrid spaces, with approximately 11 labs dedicated strictly to Cath Lab procedures. The facility offers robust 24/7 support including cardiology, hospitalists, respiratory therapy, a Critical Response Team, and dedicated charge nurses and lead techs to support clinical staff.
