Opportunity:
RN – Med Surg/Observation
Job Details:
• 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• 13-week assignment
• Float to all inpatient units as needed
• Every other weekend and every other holiday rotation required
• 8-bed observation unit with 2 RNs per shift and a 1:4 patient ratio
• Care for patients with conditions including anemia, cellulitis, COPD, CHF, dehydration, pre-op, urology, and GI issues
• Administer and manage drips including Cardizem, Nitroglycerin, Insulin, and Heparin
• Average patient stay up to 48 hours with high volume of admissions and discharges
• Ability to read and interpret EKG strips required; EKG exam required during compliance
• Background in observation units or step-down MS/Tele units preferred
• Must be able to work independently, manage tasks timely, and collaborate with team and ancillary staff
• Positive attitude and flexibility required to manage constant changes throughout a shift
• Contract eligible for 36 hours of low census unbillable hours; unit may low census in 4-hour increments
• Scrub colors: any color
• Required certifications: WI RN License, BLS, ACLS (ARC or AHA)
• EPIC charting experience required
• Minimum 3 years of experience required with at least 1 prior travel assignment
• Associate Degree or Certificate required
