Opportunity:
Interventional Radiology Tech – Interventional Radiology
Job Details:
• Monday through Friday shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM with a rotating day off each week
• Handle 25 to 45 cases per day
• Work with adult and pediatric patients; approximately 10% of cases are pediatric
• Perform and assist with general IR and Neuro IR cases including kyphoplasty/vertebroplasty, G/GJ tube placement/exchange, nephrostomy tubes/nephroureteral stents, IVC filters, temporary and tunneled dialysis catheters, Y90s/TIPs, chemo/coil embolizations, ports, and stroke cases
• Minimum 2 years of interventional radiology experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• No floating to other units
• Call schedule is made in 8-week increments using a modified self-schedule format
• On-call responsibilities include 1 weekend every 4th weekend from Saturday 6:00 AM through Monday 6:00 AM
• Full week of call every 4th week with one weekday off; call will be for either neuro or body cases
• During non-call weeks, technologist will pick up shared ancillary call as a 3rd team member for strokes or unstable trauma patients; approximately 3 ancillary call shifts per 8-week schedule
• Call team consists of 1 tech and 1 RN, with a 3-person team for stroke and trauma cases
• Response time of 30 minutes for strokes and 45 minutes for traumas
• 1 holiday of call required per contract
• No sleep room available
• Orientation consists of 1 shift; on-call responsibilities begin in the second week
• Required certifications: BLS, ARRT, IEMA
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Experience with unit-specific equipment including Inari, Penumbra, IVUS, EKOS, and Angiojet preferred but not required
• Scrubs provided
• Parking available on site

This facility is a Level 1 Trauma Center and Magnet-designated health system with 749 beds and a Comprehensive Stroke Center designation. The interventional radiology department operates 4 IR rooms and is supported by a robust team including charge and lead staff, management, transporters, stock personnel, phlebotomy, respiratory therapy available 24/7, hospitalists available 24/7, and radiologists along with radiology PAs and NPs.
