Opportunity:
RN – Med Surg/Observation
Job Details:
• 13-week assignment with an immediate start
• 12-hour variable shifts: 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week
• Float to all inpatient units as needed
• Every other weekend and every other holiday rotation required
• 8-bed observation unit with a 1:4 patient ratio and 2 RNs per shift
• Care for patients with conditions including anemia, cellulitis, COPD, CHF, dehydration, pre-op, urology, and GI
• Administer and monitor drips including Cardizem, Nitro, Insulin, and Heparin
• Ability to read and interpret EKG strips required; EKG exam required during compliance
• High volume of admissions and discharges with average patient stays up to 48 hours
• Contract eligible for 36 hours of low census unbillable hours; unit may low census in 4-hour increments
• Minimum 3 years of experience required with at least 1 prior travel assignment required
• Background in observation units or step-down MS/Tele units preferred
• EPIC charting experience required
• Required certifications: WI RN License, BLS, ACLS (ARC or AHA)
• Associate Degree or Certificate required
• Scrub colors: any color

The observation unit operates with a focused team-based approach, supporting patients requiring short-term monitoring and care. The facility emphasizes collaboration among nursing staff and ancillary teams to deliver high-quality patient experiences across all inpatient units.
