Opportunity:
RN – ICU
Job Details:
• 13-week contract
• 12-hour night shifts
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Float between Medical Surgical ICU and Neuro ICU units with possible float to other critical care and inpatient units as needed
• Every other weekend and holiday rotation required
• Low census may occur in 4-hour increments; contract eligible for 36 hours of low census unbillable hours
• Picking up call is permitted but not required; 1-hour response time if picking up call
• Primary patient ratio of 2:1
• 16-bed Medical Surgical ICU unit; Level 2 trauma center
• Cases include stroke care, cerebral monitoring and drains, vents, drips, chest tubes, spinal drains, JPs, and some CRRT patients
• May encounter logging accidents, motorcycle accidents, and snowmobile accidents depending on season
• Clinical lead on site 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, 7 days per week; shift leader available at night who also takes patients as needed; CNAs and LPNs available to assist RNs
• Minimum 2 years of MedSurg and ICU experience required; strong Neuro experience required
• Required certifications: WI RN License, BLS, NIHSS, and ACLS
• CCRN preferred but not required
• EPIC charting experience preferred
• Associate Degree or Certificate required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Any color scrubs accepted
Facility:
This facility is a Level 2 trauma center offering a wide range of critical care services, including medical and surgical ICU, neuro ICU, and other inpatient units. The facility treats complex conditions such as stroke care, sepsis, respiratory failure, and alcohol detox, and is supported by a dedicated team of clinical leads, shift leaders, CNAs, and LPNs to ensure high-quality patient care around the clock.
