Opportunity:
RN – Med Surg/Observation
Job Details:
• 13-week assignment with an ASAP start date
• 12-hour variable shifts, days and nights: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week, except during holidays when the unit is closed
• Every other weekend and every other holiday rotation required
• Float to all inpatient units as needed, including IMC and CTU units
• Low census hours may occur in 4-hour increments; contract eligible for 36 hours of low census unbillable hours
• 8-bed observation unit with a patient ratio of 1:4
• Manage patients with conditions including anemia, cellulitis, COPD, dehydration, pre and post-op urology and GI cases, with an average stay of up to 48 hours
• Administer drips including Cardizem, Nitroglycerin, Insulin, and Heparin
• High volume of admissions and discharges
• Must be able to read and interpret cardiac rhythm strips; EKG exam required during compliance
• EPIC charting experience required
• Required certifications: WI RN License, BLS, ACLS (AHA or ARC); NIHSS highly preferred
• Minimum 3 years of experience required; 1 prior travel assignment required
• Associate Degree or Certificate required
• Scrub colors: any color
• Desired qualities include strong work ethic, resilience, adaptability, ability to work independently, willingness to collaborate with team and ancillary staff, positive attitude, and flexibility

This facility is a full-service hospital offering a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services. The short stay observation unit supports patients requiring close monitoring and short-term care across a variety of medical conditions. The facility maintains multiple specialized inpatient units, including intermediate care and a cardiac telemetry unit, reflecting its commitment to comprehensive patient care across acuity levels.
