Opportunity:
RN – ICU
Job Details:
• Lower acuity ICU setting treating general ICU, stroke (TNK), medical, surgical, behavioral health, overdose, post cardiac arrest, and ventilator patients
• Patient ratio of 1:2-3 on both day and night shifts, acuity based
• 2-3 years of ICU experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Must be proficient in reading and interpreting strips, ventilator management, chest tubes, tracheostomies, line management, and proning
• Bedside and nursing station telemonitoring required; no tele tech in the ICU
• Must be comfortable floating to the Cardiac unit
• Charting system: EPIC; equipment includes Alaris and Pyxis
• Weekend rotation every other weekend
• On-call schedule varies based on unit needs
• Holiday expectations vary based on unit needs
• Scrub color: Any, professional attire
• Free parking available for employees in designated areas
• One orientation shift provided to learn unit flow
Facility:
This medical center is a 101-bed facility operating as a Level IV Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center. The ICU consists of 11 beds and is supported by a robust team including CNAs, charge nurses who take patient assignments, phlebotomy services, an IV/VAT team available during select daytime hours, respiratory therapy available 24/7, hospitalists available 24/7, an ICU educator, and OT, PT, and ST services available on weekdays with variable weekend coverage. Intensivist coverage is provided from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM with eICU support overnight.
