Opportunity:

RN – ICU

Job Details:

• 12-hour variable day and night shifts, primarily days
• Day shift hours: 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM; Night shift hours: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required, with more weekends possible if willing
• Every other holiday required, with more holidays possible if willing
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS; TNCC preferred
• No specific scrub color required; clean and professional appearance expected
• 16-bed SICU unit plus 2 additional procedural beds
• Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:2 standard, 1:1 for higher acuity patients (CRRT, immediate post-op hearts, MTP, OPO), 1:3 for med-surg/floor status patients
• Common patient populations include cardiovascular surgery (CABG, AVR, MVR, AAA), traumas, NSTEMI/STEMI, vascular surgery, neurosurgery, general surgery, orthopedic surgery, and ENT surgery
• Must have experience with high acuity patient populations
• CRRT, IABP, Impella, and ECMO experience not required but preferred
• All nurses care for POD 1 heart patients; immediate post-op heart patients cared for 1:1 by specifically trained nurses
• RNs required to titrate drips including epi, norepi, propofol, precedex, vasopressin, dobutamine, heparin, insulin, dopamine, neo, and milrinone
• RNs responsible for monitoring own patient telemetry and reading and documenting rhythm strips using GE monitors
• RT equipment includes ventilators, BiPAP, vapotherm, and all related respiratory equipment available on unit
• Intensivist in house 24/7; charge nurse on every shift; nursing house supervisor available 24/7
• Respiratory therapy available 24/7 on unit
• Nurse aide available during day shift for entire unit; not typical on night shift
• Floating may be required to MICU if not needed in SICU; patient observation duties possible if neither unit needs staffing
• Charting system: Cerner
• One day of system onboarding and CBT completion required, followed by two orientation shifts on unit; skills checklist must be completed
• Cancellation policy: Client may cancel up to 12 hours every 13 weeks
