Opportunity:
RN – CVOR
Job Details:
• Start times range from 5:00 AM to 6:30 AM depending on role
• 1:1 patient ratio
• Average of 10 cases per day
• Travelers will circulate only – surgical team always has two RNs per case (Circulator and Med RN)
• Strong CVOR background required across all specialties with ability to work independently with minimal guidance
• Experience in fast-paced environment required
• 2 years of RN experience required
• First-time travelers not recommended for this position
• Required certification: BLS
• EPIC charting system experience required
• Equipment used includes Alaris, Pyxis, and DaVinci XI
• Patient types include CABG, TAVR, valve replacements, robotic thoracic cases (lobectomy, hernia repair), generator exchanges, lead extractions, heart transplants, and Fem-Pop bypass
• Must be proficient in cardio and thoracic surgeries
• Weekend rotation is on-call only
• On-call requirements: once per month for weekend 24-hour call Saturday/Sunday 7:00 AM to 7:00 AM and end of shift call up to once per week
• 30-minute response time required for on-call shifts
• No sleep room available for on-call
• Holiday expectations are on-call only as needed
• Cannot work more than 60 hours per week or 5 consecutive 12-hour shifts per fatigue policy
• Up to 7 days of time off may be approved with requests submitted for any additional time
• 2 weeks of orientation provided
• Scrubs provided

Facility:
This facility is a large 938-bed hospital holding a Level III Trauma Center designation and Magnet recognition for nursing excellence. The facility is also recognized as a Comprehensive Stroke Center and features an 8-bed CVOR unit. The department is supported by a Department Supervisor and Manager, a Team Lead without case assignment, anesthesia available 24/7, a Surgical Assistant Lead, and a House Supervisor available around the clock.
