Opportunity:
RN – CVICU
Job Details:
• 12-hour shifts available from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 36 or 48-hour contracts available
• Every other weekend rotation required
• 1-2 holidays expected per contract
• No on-call responsibilities
• Up to 7 days of requested time off may be approved
• 6-week scheduling cycle with schedule provided 1-2 weeks prior to start
• Cannot exceed 60 hours per week or 5 consecutive 12-hour shifts per fatigue policy
• Minimum 3 years of ICU experience with 1 year of CVICU experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS; CCRN preferred
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Must be competent in invasive line monitoring including Swan Ganz and A-lines
• Must be competent with pacemakers (epicardial and transvenous), chest tubes, cardiac medications including inotropes, vasopressors, sedation and paralytics, ventilator and trach management, and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• RN draws from invasive lines only; peripheral sticks not permitted
• Experience with ECMO, CVVH, IABP, and VAD preferred
• Patient ratios: 1:1 or 1:2 for regular ICU status, 1:3 for mixed status
• IV Pump: Alaris; Med dispensing: Pyxis; Monitors: GE
• Floating may be required to ED Holding, other ICUs (MRICU, SICU, CICU, Neuro ICU), MSU, Sitter, or PACU Surge
• Scrubs must be any solid color and professional with no graphics, logos, or designs
• Free parking available with shuttle service during day shifts and attached parking structure during night shifts
Facility:
This facility is a Level II Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center with 933 beds and a Level III NICU, holding Magnet Designation for nursing excellence. The CVICU unit features 30 beds and provides care for complex cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgical patients including heart transplants, CABG, TAVR/TMVR, and major vascular procedures. The unit is supported 24/7 by a dedicated CVICU Intensivist, CT Surgeon on call, Hospitalist, General Intensivist, ICU-designated Respiratory Therapist, HUC, and phlebotomy services.
