Opportunity:
RN – MedSurg
Job Details:
• 13-week contract with an ASAP start date
• 12-hour day/night variable shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 48 guaranteed hours per week with overtime billable after 48 hours worked in a week
• Every other weekend and holiday rotation required
• Float requirements include all inpatient units
• Contract is eligible for 36 hours of low census unbillable hours, which can be taken in hour increments as needed
• Nurse to patient ratio: day/PM 1:4 or 5, nights 1:5-7
• Work in a fast-paced 40-bed post-surgical care unit providing care for pre and post-surgical adults and geriatric patients
• Unit averages 10-15 admissions per day with 90-95% occupancy during the week and average length of stay of 2-3 days
• Must have ability to multi-task and prioritize patient care needs based on acuity while working as part of a team
• Required certifications: WI RN License and BLS (AHA or ARC)
• Minimum 2+ years of Med Surg experience required with recent hospital experience
• Trauma Level II experience required
• Prior travel experience required
• Epic EMR charting experience required
• Equipment used includes Epic EMR, Rovers for medication scanning, and Alaris pumps
• Associate Degree or Certificate required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Any color scrubs permitted

This facility is a large inpatient hospital offering a wide range of medical and surgical services to patients across the region. The post-surgical care unit is a 40-bed area that supports patients along a continuum of pre and post-surgical care, with a high volume of daily admissions and consistently high occupancy rates. The facility is equipped with modern technology including Epic EMR and supports a collaborative, team-oriented environment focused on delivering quality patient care.
