Opportunity:
RN – MedSurg
Job Details:
• 12-hour variable day and night shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend and holiday rotation required
• Float requirements to all inpatient units
• Contract eligible for 36 hours of low census unbillable hours, which may be taken in hour increments as needed
• Unit will typically low census in 4-hour increments and may ask traveler to work only 4 or 8 hours of a shift
• Work in a 40-bed Post Surgical Care Unit providing care for pre and post-surgical adult and geriatric patients following PACU recovery
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: day/PM 1:4 or 1:5, nights 1:5-7
• Fast-paced unit averaging 10-15 admissions per day with average length of stay of 2-3 days
• Must have ability to multitask, prioritize patient care needs based on acuity, and work as a team
• Minimum 2+ years of Med Surg experience required with recent hospital experience
• Trauma Level II experience required
• Prior travel experience required
• Epic EMR charting experience required
• Equipment used: Epic EMR, Rovers for medication scanning, Alaris pumps
• Required certifications: WI RN License and BLS (AHA or ARC)
• Associate Degree or Certificate required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Scrub color: any color
Facility:
This facility is a well-established acute care hospital offering a wide range of inpatient and surgical services. The post-surgical care unit operates at 90-95% occupancy during the week and supports a high volume of surgical patients across multiple specialties. The facility maintains a Trauma Level II designation and provides comprehensive care along a continuum for both adult and geriatric patient populations.
