Opportunity:
RN – Tele
Job Details:
• 12-hour shifts with day/PM shifts running 7:00 AM to 11:30 PM and overnight shifts running 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Patient ratios: Days/PMs 1:4-5, Overnight 1:6-8
• Tech ratios: Days 1:6, Nights 1:7
• Weekend rotation every other weekend required
• No block scheduling
• No on-call required
• Holiday expectations: 1 summer holiday and 1 winter holiday
• Overtime requires manager approval
• Cannot work more than 60 hours in a week or 5 consecutive 12-hour shifts per fatigue policy
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Required certification: BLS
• Must be proficient with cardiac drips including Primacor, Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dobutamine, heparin, Lasix, and insulin drips
• Must be skilled in chest tube care, tracheostomy care, telemetry reading, and wound care
• Patient types include CHF, EP studies, AFib and dysrhythmias, Coumadin loading, cath lab, amputations, pre-surgical, and cardiac heart failure patients
• Charting system: EPIC preferred; equipment includes Alaris pumps, Pyxis, and GE monitors
• May be required to float to other inpatient areas within scope of practice, including ED Holding at a 1:4 ratio; travelers are first to float
• Orientation includes at least one shift to learn workflow
• Scrub color: Any color accepted, no camouflage or denim
• Must document pain levels before and after administering pain medications, with appropriate medication matching patient pain score

This facility is a large 933-bed hospital and Level III Trauma Center with Magnet Designation and Comprehensive Stroke Center status. The telemetry unit consists of 27 beds and is supported around the clock by charge nurses, unit secretaries, hospitalists, respiratory therapists, centralized telemetry monitoring with telemetry technicians, and phlebotomy services. The facility is committed to providing high-quality patient care across a wide range of specialties including cardiac, vascular, and surgical services.
