Opportunity:

RN – Obstetrics

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 5:30 AM
• Self-scheduling available
• Weekend requirement: every 3rd Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
• No on-call or standby requirement
• LDRP position working both labor and postpartum units, caring for mothers and babies
• Care for patients with common diagnoses including pre-eclampsia, gestational diabetes, postpartum hemorrhage, newborn respiratory distress, and pregnancy-related conditions
• Must be comfortable with neonatal resuscitation, labor patients, postpartum patients, couplets, and stable newborn patients
• RNs are required to titrate drips including oxytocin, insulin, and magnesium
• RNs do not circulate in the OR or recover patients after general anesthesia
• Fetal monitoring system: Fetalink with GE monitors; strips read by tele techs on another unit
• CPAP, BiPAP, and vents on site, used primarily for newborns by separate staff
• Nurse aides and surgical techs available on the unit
• Travel RN would not serve in a charge nurse role
• Potential to float to other units as a sitter if needed, in the same rotation as staff nurses
• Scrubs provided by facility
• Orientation includes 1 day of online training, 1 day in labor, and 1 day in postpartum
• Charting system: Cerner
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• Must clock in and out at the facility

Facility:

This acute care facility features an obstetrics unit with 8 labor and delivery beds, 1 OR suite for C-sections, 1 triage bed, and 12 postpartum beds, delivering between 1,300 and 1,400 babies per year. The unit follows AWHONN guidelines for staffing ratios and maintains anesthesia on-site 24/7. The facility supports a comprehensive LDRP model with dedicated staff and modern equipment to ensure high-quality care for mothers and newborns.
