Opportunity:
RN – ICU
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour shifts with available shift times of 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Weekend rotation every other weekend
• No on-call responsibilities
• 1 holiday requirement per contract
• Schedule made in 4-week increments
• Minimum 3 years of ICU experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Patient ratio of 1:2 based on acuity
• Care for patients with diagnoses including sepsis, ETOH, IVDA, overdose, suicidal ideation, delirium, GI bleeds, strokes with TPA, acute renal failure, DKA, and post-surgical recovery
• Perform vent/trach management, invasive line management including art lines, CVP, and Swan-Ganz catheters, drain management, chest tube management, foley management, post-cath experience, CVVH, and CRRT
• Preferred skills include cardiovascular and CV surgery experience, IABPs, and Impellas
• May float within scope of practice to intermediate units (1:3), MSU, ED Boarding (1:4), and Observation units (1:4) – travelers are first to float
• EMR system: EPIC (preferred)
• IV Pump: Alaris; Medication dispensing: Pyxis; Unit-specific equipment: NxStage CRRT
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS; NIHSS preferred
• Scrub color: Any color; no camouflage, graphics, logos, or designs
• Free parking available
• More than 2 sick calls will prompt discussion and possible contract termination
Facility:
This facility is a 136-bed Level III Trauma Center and Level II NICU, as well as a designated Primary Stroke Center. The ICU unit consists of 17 beds and is supported by a robust team including CNAs, a charge nurse, an ICU-specific pharmacist, respiratory therapy available 24/7, hospitalists available 24/7, and intensivists available 24/7. The facility provides comprehensive surgical, cardiac, and vascular care services with strong departmental support structures in place for nursing staff.
