Job Details:
• 12-hour night shifts
• Every other weekend required (Saturday and Sunday)
• Holiday requirements: minimum 2 out of 3 holidays for winter, otherwise typically every other holiday during the contract
• Rotate variable shift start times; manager creates schedule and will try to avoid scheduling 1 day on and 1 day off
• Minimum 2 years of emergency department experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), PALS (AHA), TNCC
• Michigan nursing license required and must be in hand at time of submission
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3-4 during the day; higher ratios at night after 11:00 PM with only 2 RNs after 3:00 AM until 7:00 AM
• 14-bed emergency department with 2 trauma bays; Trauma Level IV facility
• Fast track available with 3 designated rooms
• 2 dedicated triage rooms; travelers may triage after review and understanding of facility policies and procedures
• Patients held within the department with attached ACU rooms used when overflow is needed
• Common diagnoses include traumas, STEMIs, strokes, hunting injuries, MVAs, and agricultural-related cases
• ED physician on-site 24/7 along with mid-level providers
• Respiratory therapy available in-house 24/7 for ABGs, breathing treatments, and EKGs
• 24/7 phlebotomy services available for lab draws
• X-ray located down the hall with 24/7 availability; CT located nearby
• No monitor technician; central monitoring station with RN responsibility for reading strips
• Variable common drips
• Floating to inpatient areas may be required to assist as needed
• Dress code: any solid color scrubs, clean and professional appearance
• All clinicians must clock in and out at the facility
• Cancellation policy: client may cancel up to 12 hours every 13 weeks

This acute care facility operates a fully staffed emergency department providing 24/7 care for a wide range of medical conditions and trauma cases. The department includes dedicated triage rooms, a fast track area, and trauma bays, supported by in-house respiratory therapy, radiology, and phlebotomy services around the clock. The facility maintains a collaborative care environment with ED physicians, mid-level providers, and ancillary staff working together to deliver quality patient care across a diverse patient population.
