Opportunity:
RN – CVOR
Job Details:
• 8-hour various day shifts, Monday through Friday
• 40 hours guaranteed per week
• On-call requirements include 1 night of call per week, 1 weekend per month, and 1 backup per week with occasional additional call possible
• 30-minute response time required when on call – must be ready in the OR
• A personal vehicle is required for this position due to the 30-minute response time
• Every 3rd-4th weekend and holiday rotation required
• 13-week contract
• Minimum 3+ years of OR experience with anesthesia experience required
• Prior travel experience required
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in nursing required
• Required certifications: AHA or ARC BLS, ACLS, and Wisconsin RN license or compact RN license
• Proficiency with Epic charting system required
• Experience with Cell Saver, Belmont, and Level I equipment required
• Work across 21 ORs covering all specialties with 4-5 rooms assigned per day
• Strong OR/CVOR circulating experience required
• Responsibilities include assisting with intubations, fiber optic scopes during intubation, sterile techniques with central lines, arterial line placement, central lines, lumbar drains, Swan Ganz catheters, starting IVs, drawing labs, and setting up medication pumps
• Assist anesthesiologist with heart surgeries, traumas, elective surgeries, and general surgeries
• Prior experience with conscious sedation a plus
• Must be flexible, willing to perform downtime tasks as needed, and manage change effectively
• Strong critical thinking skills and knowledge of all OR cases required
• 2-week orientation process with training for additional anesthesia skills as needed
• Scrub colors provided

This hospital is a large, comprehensive healthcare facility featuring 21 operating rooms covering all surgical specialties, with a primary focus on its cardiothoracic program. The facility provides a wide range of surgical services including heart surgeries, trauma care, elective procedures, and general surgeries. The organization is committed to professional development, offering a structured 2-week orientation process and training for additional anesthesia skills as needed.
