Opportunity:
RN – Stepdown
Job Details:
• 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Guaranteed 48 hours per week with overtime after 48 hours worked
• Every other weekend and every other holiday rotation required
• Float to all inpatient units as needed
• Contract is eligible for 36 hours of low census unbillable hours – can be low censused in hour increments; unit typically low censuses in 4-hour increments and may ask traveler to work only 4 or 8 hours of a shift
• Work in a 44-bed intermediate cardiac stepdown unit with a fast-paced, high patient turnover environment
• Patient conditions include post-op CABG/Valve, thoracotomy, vascular, arrhythmia, CHF, post-procedure cath, pacer, defib, ablations, acute CP/MI, and med/surg overflow including detox, DKA, COPD exacerbation, respiratory failure, and Fem Pop Bypass
• Typical patient ratio of 1:4
• Must be a hard worker, resilient, able to manage change, work independently, and complete tasks in a timely manner
• Scrub colors: any color
• Required certifications: WI RN License, BLS, and ACLS (AHA or ARC)
• Must be able to pass EKG test during first week of hire
• Minimum 1 year of strong cardiac experience required (Cardiac SDU, Intermediate Cardiac, or Cardiac ICU)
• Minimum 2 years of IMC/PCU/Telemetry experience required
• Experience with Amiodarone, Cardizem, and Nitro Drips required to move forward in the interview process
• At least one prior travel assignment must be completed
• Minimum 1 year of recent EPIC charting experience required
• Associate Degree or Certificate required; Bachelor's Degree preferred

The unit is fast-paced with high patient turnover and offers a dynamic environment supporting post-operative, procedural, and acute cardiac care. The organization is committed to maintaining high standards of patient care and requires clinical staff who are adaptable, independent, and skilled in managing a diverse patient population.
