Opportunity:
RN – CVICU
Job Details:
• 36 or 48-hour contract options available
• Shift times: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend rotation required
• 1 to 2 holidays expected per contract
• No on-call responsibilities
• 6-week scheduling cycle with schedule provided 1 to 2 weeks prior to start
• Cannot work more than 60 hours in a week or 5 consecutive 12-hour shifts per fatigue policy
• Minimum 3 years of ICU experience with 1 year of CVICU experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS; CCRN preferred
• Must be competent in invasive line monitoring including Swan Ganz and A-lines, pacemakers (epicardial and transvenous), chest tubes, cardiac medications (inotropes, vasopressors, sedation/paralytics), ventilator/trach management, and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• EPIC EMR experience required
• CV surgical experience preferred including ECMO, CVVH, IABP, and VAD
• RN draws from invasive lines only; peripheral sticks not permitted
• Patient ratios: 1:1 or 1:2 for regular ICU status, 1:3 for mixed status
• Equipment used includes Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, and GE monitors
• Scrub color: Any solid color, professional; no graphics, logos, or designs
• Free parking available with shuttle service for day shifts and attached parking structure for night shifts
Facility:
This facility is a large 933-bed hospital designated as a Level II Trauma Center and Level III NICU, as well as a Magnet Designated institution and Comprehensive Stroke Center. The CVICU unit consists of 30 beds and provides care for complex cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgical patients. The unit offers robust 24/7 support including a dedicated CVICU Intensivist, CT Surgeon on call, Hospitalist, General Intensivist, ICU designated Respiratory Therapist, charge nurse, and HUC coverage.
