Opportunity:
RN – Med Surg/Observation
Job Details:
• 13-week assignment with an ASAP start date
• 12-hour day/night variable shifts: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM and 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend and every other holiday rotation required
• Float to all inpatient units as needed, including IMC and CTU units
• Contract eligible for 36 hours of low census unbillable hours, which can occur in hour increments; unit typically low censuses in 4-hour increments
• 8-bed observation unit with a 1:4 patient ratio
• Care for patients with conditions including anemia, cellulitis, COPD, dehydration, pre and post-op urology and GI, and cardiac drips (Cardizem, Nitro, Insulin, Heparin)
• High volume of admissions and discharges with average patient stay up to 48 hours
• Ability to read and interpret cardiac strips required; EKG exam required during compliance
• Background in observation, med/surg, or telemetry units preferred
• Must be able to manage independently, complete tasks timely, and collaborate with team and ancillary staff
• Positive attitude and flexibility with constant changes throughout a shift required
• Scrub colors: any color
• Associate Degree or Certificate required
• Minimum 3 years of experience required with at least 1 prior travel assignment required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Required certifications: WI RN License, BLS, ACLS (AHA or ARC); NIHSS highly preferred
