Opportunity:
RN – CVICU
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour shifts on days or nights, from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required with some holidays
• No on-call responsibilities
• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience in the specialty required within the last 3 years
• Travel experience required
• CVICU experience required
• Experience and knowledge of NxStage CVVH machine required
• Experience with CRRT, IABP, Impella, HM3 LVAD, and ECMO required
• Experience in Cardiothoracic Surgery and/or Acuity Adaptable area preferred
• Must pass a Telemetry exam prior to start with a passing score of 80% or higher within two attempts
• Traveler will have three total attempts; if the second attempt is failed, a certificate of completion of a cardiac interpretation review course must be submitted before a third attempt is assigned
• Travelers are required to float as needed
• Locals within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
• Charting system: Epic (required)
• Trauma Level I experience required
• Patient population includes adults and geriatrics
• Typical patient ratio is 1-2 patients per nurse, up to 3 for general care patients when acuity is low
• Care for patients with diagnoses including CABG, Valve Repair/Replacement, Aneurysm repair, aortic dissection repair, LVAD, heart and lung transplant, thoracic surgery, STEMI, NSTEMI, cardiogenic shock, heart failure, and arrhythmia management
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, WI or compact RN license

The cardiovascular and cardiothoracic ICU features 27 private rooms, each capable of ICU-level care, and is supported by an interdisciplinary team including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more. The nursing team is comprised of Care Team Leaders, a Rapid Response Nurse, and direct patient care RNs, ensuring staff are well-supported through both planned and emergent procedures.
