Opportunity:
RN – Med Surg/Observation
Job Details:
• 13-week assignment starting as soon as possible
• 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Guaranteed 48 hours per week
• Every other weekend and every other holiday rotation required
• Float to all inpatient units as needed, including IMC and CTU units
• Contract is eligible for 36 hours of low census unbillable hours, taken in hour increments as needed – unit typically low censuses in 4-hour increments
• 8-bed observation unit with a patient ratio of 1:4
• Treat patients with conditions including anemia, cellulitis, COPD, dehydration, pre and post-op urology and GI cases, with average patient stay up to 48 hours
• Administer drips including Cardizem, Nitro, Insulin, and Heparin
• High volume of admissions and discharges
• Ability to read and interpret cardiac strips required
• Must complete an EKG exam during compliance
• Required certifications: WI RN License, BLS, ACLS (AHA or ARC); NIHSS highly preferred
• Minimum 3 years of experience required with at least 1 prior travel assignment required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Background in observation, med/surg, or telemetry units preferred
• Associate Degree or Certificate required
• Scrub colors: any color

This facility is a full-service hospital offering a wide range of inpatient and outpatient medical services to the community. The Short Stay Observation Unit is an 8-bed unit designed to provide care for patients requiring short-term monitoring and treatment. The facility supports multiple inpatient units including intermediate care and cardiac telemetry units, emphasizing collaborative teamwork and high-quality patient experiences.
