Opportunity:
RN – ER
Job Details:
• 12-hour shifts with variable start times of 10:00 AM, 12:00 PM, and 3:00 PM
• Every other weekend required (Saturday and Sunday)
• Holiday requirements of at least 2-3 shifts for winter needs, otherwise typically every other holiday during the contract
• Overtime opportunities available, though 48 hours per week will not be scheduled
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3-4 during the day, with higher ratios at night; after 3:00 AM only 2 RNs until 7:00 AM
• Rotate variable start times as needed; scheduling managed by department manager
• 2 years of emergency department experience required
• Must be comfortable with triaging patients after review and understanding of facility policies and procedures
• Common patient diagnoses include traumas, STEMIs, strokes, hunting injuries, MVAs, and farm-related injuries
• Floating to inpatient areas for helping hands may be required
• Scrub color: any solid color, clean and professional
• Orientation includes computer-based training, 2 days of floor orientation, and department-specific policy training
• Must clock in and out at the facility
• Michigan nursing license required and must be in hand at time of submission
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), PALS (AHA), TNCC
Facility:
This acute care facility operates a 14-bed emergency department with 2 trauma bays and a Fast Track area featuring 3 designated rooms. The department is designated as a Trauma Level IV facility and sees an average of 40-60 patients per day. The emergency department is supported by ED physicians on-site 24/7, 24/7 respiratory therapy, 24/7 phlebotomy services, and X-ray and CT imaging in close proximity. The department also features dedicated triage and psychiatric/seclusion room capabilities, ensuring comprehensive care for a wide range of patient needs.
