RN – OR
Job Details:
• Primarily 10-hour day shifts (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM), with 8-hour PM shifts (3:00 PM – 11:30 PM) approximately one week every 5 weeks
• Night shift (11:00 PM – 7:00 AM) possible with experience at facility
• 8-hour or 10-hour shifts available; 12-hour shifts available on subsequent contracts based on department staffing
• No blocked scheduling
• Call requirements: 1-2 nights per week (Monday through Thursday) from end of shift to 7:00 AM
• Weekend call: 1 weekend approximately every 5-6 weeks (Friday after shift through Monday morning at 7:00 AM), in addition to weekly night call
• Holiday call: At least 1 holiday per year
• Call response time: 30 minutes for Call Team 1; 45 minutes for Call Teams 2 through 4
• Must be able to circulate General/GYN/Urology/Peripheral Vascular cases including bowel resections, laparoscopic cases, daVinci Xi cases, urology (open and scope), bariatrics, GYN (open and vaginal), C-sections, lap appy, and lap chole
• Must be able to circulate orthopedic cases including total joints with or without MAKO robot (knees, hips, shoulders, ankles), arthroscopy, and ortho trauma
• Must be able to circulate Neuro/ENT/Oral/Plastics cases including trach, ENT, plastics, breast reductions, spine fusions, laminectomy, craniotomy, facial fractures, laryngoscopy/bronchoscopy, and neck dissections
• Specialized case groupings include: Ortho; Neuro/ENT/Oral/Plastics; CV-T (including Peripheral Vascular); and General/GYN/Urology/Peripheral Vascular
• Facility operates 16 OR suites with an average of 28 cases per day
• Scrubbing not required for RNs
• Charge RN always present in OR; staffed 24/7/365 with a minimum of one RN and one Surgical Tech
• OR technicians available on unit
• Floating required to Outpatient Surgery Center located across campus
• Charting system: Cerner EMR
• Scrub color: Navy blue, provided at no cost via Cintas vending
• Orientation includes 2-3 days with facility educator covering basics and CBTs, plus 1-2 weeks of cases to learn flow
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA) and BLS (AHA)
• Candidates living within 80 miles of the facility are considered local and subject to adjusted rates
• All clinicians must clock in and out at the facility
Facility:
This acute care facility is a Level 2 Trauma Center offering a comprehensive surgical services department with 16 operating suites and a high volume of diverse surgical cases. The OR operates 24/7/365 and supports a wide range of specialties including orthopedics, neurosciences, ENT, plastics, cardiovascular, general surgery, gynecology, and urology. The facility utilizes advanced surgical technology including the daVinci Xi robotic system and the MAKO robotic arm, and maintains a well-supported environment with dedicated charge nurses, surgical technologists, and an Outpatient Surgery Center located on campus.
