Job Details:
• Day/Evening 12-hour shifts, with most shifts running 9:00 AM to 9:30 PM or 11:00 AM to 11:30 PM
• Variable shift options also include 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM and night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• Weekend rotation required; weekends are defined as Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
• Every other holiday required
• 4×12 schedules and assignments up to 26 weeks available for interested travelers
• Two years of Emergency Department experience with adult and pediatric populations within the last 3 years required
• Wisconsin RN or Compact RN license required
• Required certifications: BLS, PALS, and ACLS (AHA only)
• NIHSS and TNCC certifications preferred
• Cerner charting system experience preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Must pass a telemetry exam prior to start; two attempts allowed with a passing score of 80% or higher
• Adult telemetry exam requires 100% identification of lethal rhythms and no incorrect answers on third-degree heart block questions
• Pediatric telemetry exam covers ventricular fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, asystole, and sinus bradycardia
• Required skills include: arterial line management, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, care of ventilated patients, central line care and management, continuous IV sedation, general emergency department combined adult and pediatric care, interpretation of arterial blood gases, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, isolation precautions and PPE, IV vasopressors, management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction or failure, 12-lead EKG/ECG acquisition, phlebotomy, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, IV insertion and maintenance, and triage
• Travelers are required to float as needed
• Barcode scanning must be at or above 95% to be eligible for an extension
• Bedside shift reporting, utilization of AIDET, and hourly rounding are required
• Locals within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
• Free parking available on site
Facility:
This medical center operates a busy emergency department with 19 rooms and a daily census of 70 patients, serving a wide range of patient age groups including neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. The facility manages typical emergency diagnoses and ships all level one traumas to appropriate centers. Interdisciplinary support services available include respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy, creating a well-rounded environment for comprehensive emergency care.
