Opportunity:
RN – ICU
Job Details:
• Day shifts, 12 hours, 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM
• Weekend rotation required with every other holiday
• Standby call required as needed
• Will consider a 48-hour contract if willing to work more weekends
• Care for ICU and PCU patients with all acuity types and ratios
• Patient diagnoses include cardiac/respiratory, orthopedic (knees/hips), and general surgery
• Patient ratios: 5 during days, 6 during nights
• Patient population includes adults and geriatrics
• Float required as needed
• Occasional use of ventilators required
• Barcode scanning must be maintained at 95% or higher to be eligible for extension
• Bedside Shift Reporting (BSSR), utilization of AIDET, and hourly rounding required
• Charge experience preferred
• Free parking onsite
• 2 years of RN experience in med/surg and PCU required
• Travel experience required
• Must live more than 50 miles from the facility
• First-time travelers must have more than 5 years of RN experience
• RN license required
• BLS and ACLS required – AHA only
• Cerner charting system experience required
• Must pass a telemetry exam prior to assignment start with a score of 80% or higher
• Telemetry exam requires 100% identification of lethal rhythms including ventricular fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, and asystole
• No incorrect answers permitted on questions regarding 3rd degree heart blocks
Facility:
This medical center is a community hospital with 23 beds serving a daily census of approximately 10 patients. The facility operates a blended ICU/PCU unit requiring nurses to care for all acuity types. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and unit secretaries. The organization is dedicated to providing exceptional patient and family experiences by delivering the highest quality of care in a compassionate environment.
